The Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) will not provide legal assistance to PSI Board Secretary Grace Natalie in the case of alleged editing of a sermon by Indonesia’s 10th and 12th Vice President Jusuf Kalla (JK). PSI states that what Grace Natalie said is a personal statement.

“Like this, the statement delivered by a party member, right, let’s say Ms Grace, that is a personal statement,” said PSI Daily Chairman Ahmad Ali or Mad Ali at the PSI DPP office, Tuesday (5/5/2026).

Mad Ali stated that institutionally, PSI will not provide legal assistance. Mad Ali emphasised that the existence of the report must be accounted for by Grace Natalie personally.

“Institutionally, we assure that we will not provide legal assistance as a party institution. Because this is something that must be accounted for personally,” he said.

Nevertheless, Mad Ali stated that PSI will still provide support assistance as a friend to Grace Natalie.

“The Indonesian Solidarity Party in the context of friendship, as a friend, we provide personal assistance,” he said.

An alliance of 40 Islamic community organisations (ormas) is known to have reported Grace Natalie and two others to the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency. The report concerns the alleged editing of JK’s sermon at the Gadjah Mada University (UGM) Mosque some time ago.

“The police report we made with the reported parties Brother Ade Armando, Permadi Arya, and Grace Natalie has been received by the police, and we have received the police report receipt letter,” said representative of LBH Hidayatullah, Syaefullah Hamid, to reporters at the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency, South Jakarta, Monday (4/5).

This report is registered with number LP/B/185/V/2026/SPKT/BARESKRIM POLRI dated 4 May 2026.
