PSE given three months to comply with PP Tunas regulations
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Electronic System Providers (PSE) have been given a three-month deadline to fulfil their obligations in accordance with Government Regulation Number 17 of 2025 on the Governance of Electronic Systems in Child Protection (PP Tunas).
The Director General of Digital Space Supervision at the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs, Alexander Sabar, stated in an official release in Jakarta on Saturday that these obligations take effect from the implementation of PP Tunas on 28 March 2026.
“The implementation of PP Tunas begins on 28 March 2026 as the starting point for application by Electronic System Providers (PSE),” said Alexander.
The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Kemkomdigi) outlined the compliance levels of several digital platforms operating in Indonesia with PP Tunas since its implementation on 28 March.
Meta has fulfilled its child protection obligations and has been declared compliant with PP Tunas policies.
Meanwhile, Roblox and TikTok are currently in a partially cooperative status. Both platforms have submitted written commitments and are making gradual adjustments to meet PP Tunas provisions.
Google, however, has not yet achieved compliance with PP Tunas, leading the government to impose a written sanction in the form of a first written reprimand on 9 April 2026.
“Based on the written reprimand sanction, Google is required to immediately achieve PP Tunas compliance within a period of seven days from the imposition of the said administrative sanction,” said Alexander.
Kemkomdigi measures the success of PP Tunas using two interrelated indicators. First, the compliance level of digital platforms in implementing comprehensive child protection systems.
Second, the tangible impact in the digital space, namely a reduction in cases of exploitation, bullying, and exposure to negative content among children.
“Both must go hand in hand to realise a safer digital space for children,” stated Alexander.
