Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Jeddah, Yusron B. Ambary, has urged Indonesian prospective Hajj pilgrims who have just arrived in Madinah to maintain their health and comply with all applicable regulations in Saudi Arabia while performing the Hajj pilgrimage.

This advice was given after he welcomed the arrival of the first batch of prospective Hajj pilgrims from Yogyakarta who landed at Madinah Airport on Wednesday.

“Alhamdulillah, the pilgrims landed and proceeded directly to the hotel, which is located very close to Masjid Nabawi, specifically in the Taiba Front area. They just need to cross the road to reach the mosque,” he said in a statement from Jakarta.

He noted that in his three years of experience in Hajj organisation, this is the first time Indonesian pilgrims have received accommodation so near to Masjid Nabawi.

He also highlighted the large number of elderly members in this batch.

He reminded the pilgrims to maintain a healthy diet, drink sufficiently, and consume vitamins if necessary to preserve their stamina while in the Holy Land.

“Do not force yourself to worship if your physical condition is not fit. The peak of Hajj is still more than a month away. We hope the pilgrims remain healthy when entering the peak phase,” he said.

Previously, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah ensured health services for prospective Hajj pilgrims, such as the Indonesian Hajj Health Clinic (KKHI) and strengthened referral systems with hospitals in Saudi Arabia, operating 24 hours a day during the Hajj season.

“KKHI operates 24 hours every day, yes,” said Enny Nuryanti, Head of Health for the Madinah Working Area.

She stated that these measures are to maintain the pilgrims’ health conditions, especially amid the potential for extreme weather that could affect physical endurance during the pilgrimage.

She assured that medical personnel are always available and on standby to handle various health complaints from pilgrims. The Madinah KKHI is supported by a team consisting of general practitioners and specialists, nurses, pharmacists, laboratory staff, radiographers, and sanitation experts.

In terms of facilities, the KKHI is equipped with ambulances, patient treatment rooms with beds, and medical equipment such as X-ray radiology, ultrasound, and a pharmacy to support comprehensive health services.
