Yesterday, on 11 May, the public prosecutors’ team stated their cassation against the acquittal ruling. This relates to the acquittal of the bank’s board members from Bank Jabar, Bank DKI, and Bank Jateng,” said Head of Public Relations for the Attorney General’s Office, Anang Supriatna, at the Attorney General’s Office complex in South Jakarta on Tuesday (12/5/2026). Anang explained that the filing of the cassation appeal against this acquittal is possible because the case was handed over and tried using the provisions of the old Criminal Procedure Code. “This case was tried and handed over when using the old KUHAP. The panel of judges also stated in their considerations that this still uses the old criminal procedure law,” Anang clarified in response to questions about the cassation procedure against the acquittal. When asked about the judges’ consideration that the bankers were unaware of the financial reporting manipulations carried out by Sritex, the Attorney General’s Office assured that they would counter that argument through the public prosecutor’s cassation memorandum. “Yes, that will be part of the public prosecutor’s cassation memorandum. It will be outlined there (the objections),” he emphasised. Unlike the bankers who were acquitted, the private sector defendants, namely Iwan Lukminto and others, were found guilty by the judge. However, because Iwan Lukminto’s side filed an appeal, the prosecutors took similar action. “Parallel to the cassation, the legal advisors for Iwan Lukminto and others also stated an appeal. The prosecutors also stated an appeal on that day regarding the Sritex case,” Anang added. According to Antara, the Semarang Corruption Court in Central Java, the panel of judges handed down an acquittal for eight bankers. They are: 1. Former President Director of Bank BJB Yuddy Renaldi 2. Former Senior Executive Vice President of Business at Bank BJB Benny Riswandi 3. Former Head of Corporate and Commercial Division at Bank BJB Dicky Syahbandinata 4. Former President Director of Bank Jateng Supriyatno 5. Former Director of Corporate and Commercial Business at Bank Jateng Pujiono 6. Former Head of Corporate and Commercial Business Division at Bank Jateng Suldiarta 7. Former Director of Technology and Operations at Bank DKI Priagung Suprapto 8. Former Director of MSME Credit doubling as Director of Finance at Bank DKI Babay Farid Wazdi In the considerations of the acquittal ruling, it was stated that no evidence was found that these eight bankers had abused their authority or positions in deciding the credit application from PT Sritex. Additionally, no subjective fault or malicious intent was found, either in the form of deliberate action or negligence. The bankers had no intention to act unlawfully. The judges assessed that the legal consequences in this case were not a result of the defendants’ actions, but from other parties outside the knowledge, power, or will of the bank leaders. They were said to have never known about the financial reporting manipulations carried out by PT Sritex.
