The Director of PT Terra Drone Indonesia, Michael Wisnu Wardhana, has completed examination as the defendant in the alleged negligence case involving the Terra Drone building fire that killed 22 people. The prosecution hearing will be held this week.

“For the proof, it’s already finished, then for the prosecution, it could be in two days?” asked the Chief Judge, Purwanto S Abdullah, at the Central Jakarta District Court on Tuesday (5/5/2026).

“We will endeavour for Thursday, Your Honour,” replied the prosecutor.

The prosecution hearing is set for Thursday (7/5). Meanwhile, the verdict hearing is scheduled for Wednesday (20/5).

“Considering that May has many holidays, and your detention expires on 2 June. So we will conclude it. Now, if it’s Thursday the 7th, the plea is short one week?” asked the judge.

“Ready, Your Honour, Tuesday the 12th (May),” replied Michael’s lawyer.

“If there is a rebuttal, we set it for the 13th (May), if there is a duplication, the 18th (May). Verdict on the 20th (May). That’s it, the hearing today is declared closed,” said the judge.

Previously, Michael Wisnu Wardhana was charged with negligence in preventing, reducing, and extinguishing the fire that occurred at the PT Terra Drone office building in Central Jakarta. The fire resulted in the deaths of 22 PT Terra Drone employees.

The PT Terra Drone office building fire occurred on Tuesday (9/12/2025). Prosecutors stated that the building was used as a storage place for PT Terra Drone’s business goods, including lithium polymer drone batteries type 6s 30,000 mAh, which had only one main door without any emergency stairs.

The PT Terra Drone office building consists of 7 floors, with each floor connected by access stairs and 1 lift unit, with the building dimensions approximately 16 metres long and 9 metres wide. The general construction of the building is a concrete flat roof with an iron frame rooftop, gypsum ceiling with iron frame, brick walls with iron frame, and ceramic floors.

Prosecutors said that when the fire occurred, employees had difficulty extinguishing the initial sparks because there were no APAR fire extinguishers. The fire then grew larger, resulting in 22 PT Terra Drone employees becoming victims. Prosecutors charged Michael Wisnu with violating Article 474 paragraph 3 or Article 188 of Law Number 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code.
