More than 100 preachers from Balikpapan City, East Kalimantan, participated in a Trainer of Trainer workshop on literacy regarding BPJS Kesehatan’s Sharia services.

The Deputy Director for Service Quality Management at BPJS Kesehatan, C Falah Rakhmatiana, explained that the event, titled Transformasi Awareness Bersama Insan Dakwah JKN (Tasbih JKN), represents the organisation’s commitment to providing healthcare services that are not only of high quality in terms of systems but also touch upon the humanistic and spiritual aspects of society.

“This activity is not merely a forum for networking and learning, but also a space to strengthen collective efforts in delivering health protection that brings peace of mind and tranquillity to the Indonesian people,” she stated in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, on Monday (5/5/2026).

According to Falah, as the organiser of the National Health Insurance (JKN) Programme, BPJS Kesehatan continues to strive to offer accessible services oriented towards participants’ needs. However, she emphasised that healthcare services are not solely about systems and administration.

“Therein lie a father’s hopes for his family, a mother’s peace of mind when her child receives healthcare, and a sense of relief when the public feels they are not alone in facing the risks of illness,” she said.

She added that humanistic values form an important foundation in the implementation of JKN. Quoting a message from Ali bin Abi Talib, Falah reminded that humans are essentially brothers, both in faith and humanity.

“This value aligns with the spirit of the JKN Programme, that every member of society has the right to health protection and care without regard to their background,” she stated.

Falah explained that the JKN programme is built on the spirit of gotong royong, where society helps one another.

“The healthy help the sick, the able help those in need. This makes JKN not just a state programme, but a manifestation of social compassion,” she said.

In this context, BPJS Kesehatan also views the role of religious figures and preachers as highly strategic in strengthening public understanding of the importance of health.

“Through calming words and soothing messages, preachers can convey that maintaining health is also part of safeguarding the trust of life,” Falah remarked.

She assessed that when health messages are delivered through a dakwah approach, it creates a blend of social and spiritual values that can mobilise society.

“When a healthy person helps the sick, that is where humanistic values come into play. When a family feels protected from the burden of healthcare costs, that is where peace and hope emerge,” she said.
