Progress of Aceh 1 People's School Construction Reaches 15%, Supporting Asta Cita for Human Resource Improvement
Aceh (ANTARA) - The construction of Sekolah Rakyat (SR) 1 Aceh continues to show positive progress. As of now, the construction achievement has reached 15%, with a target completion date of 20 June 2026, and final refinement scheduled for 25 July 2026. The project is being carried out at three locations: Aceh Besar Regency, Bireuen Regency, and Lhokseumawe City. These three locations have relatively similar work stages, where the completed work includes land preparation and levelling as well as foundation work. Currently, the construction has entered the stage of substructure and superstructure work. In order to accelerate completion, the project adopts a construction method by replacing the conventional concrete superstructure with a steel structure. In addition, innovation is also applied through the use of Glassfiber Reinforced Cement (GRC) material as a replacement for conventional formwork, which is more effective, efficient, and supports work acceleration. The construction of Sekolah Rakyat Aceh 1 aligns with the implementation of the Government’s Asta Cita, particularly in efforts to improve the quality of human resources through equitable access to education. The project is expected to open wider educational opportunities for the community, especially the underprivileged, and to encourage sustainable regional economic growth. The President Director of PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk, Agung Budi Waskito (BW), stated that this construction is a manifestation of the company’s commitment to supporting the government’s strategic programmes. “The construction of this People’s School not only focuses on providing infrastructure but also becomes part of efforts to build the nation’s future through improving the quality of education. WIKA is committed to delivering projects that are right on quality, on time, and provide real benefits to the community,” said Agung Budi Waskito. With ongoing progress and various innovations applied, the project is expected to be completed on target and soon utilised by the community ahead of the new academic year.
