The potential for growth among insurance agents in Indonesia remains substantial. According to data from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) as of the end of November 2025, the number of life insurance agents reached 233,998 persons, representing growth of approximately 14 per cent compared with June 2025.

This expansion demonstrates that the profession of insurance agent is increasingly sought after, whilst simultaneously opening opportunities to continually enhance the quality of marketing personnel in the industry through appropriate mindset and competency development.

Beyond this, amid growing protection needs, insurance agents have become strategic partners in expanding the reach of protection and financial literacy in Indonesia.

For this reason, PT FWD Insurance Indonesia (FWD Insurance), a life insurance company focused on customers with technology support, continues to drive the development of insurance agents who are not only competent but also maintain global professional standards, including promotion of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) achievement.

Ang Tiam Kit, Chief of Agency at FWD Insurance, stated that professionalism of marketing personnel is the key factor for winning customer trust. Aligned with the spirit of celebrating life, the company continues to endeavour to present quality agents with MDRT standards to ensure continuous education and relevant protection for the community.

“We believe insurance is not merely a protection product, but an effort to provide new meaning and relevance to the lives of our customers. For this reason, MDRT becomes an achievement that motivates our agents to consistently follow the correct process, maintain integrity, and provide appropriate protection solutions for each customer,” he said on Monday (2 March 2026).

To support this, he explained, the company offers a comprehensive ecosystem for agents, ranging from training and competency development, continuous mentoring, to digital technology support such as FWD Smart for analysing customer financial needs and IRIS for monitoring performance and sales management. “Through this support, agents are encouraged to develop professionally and provide services oriented towards customer needs,” he said.

Beyond internal support, FWD Insurance continues to strengthen financial education in the community through various creative initiatives. One of these is through the FWD Vodcast Blak-blakan The MDRT Mindset: Consistency Before Motivation, which discusses mindset and consistency as the fundamental foundation for building a professional and sustainable insurance agent career.

In line with the regulator’s commitment to improving the quality of marketing personnel, FWD Insurance continues to endeavour to empower agents so they can compete at the global level and contribute to increasing financial literacy and inclusion in Indonesia.

“Through continuous support and a culture of care, we want increasingly many of our agents to succeed in business and become partners that customers can trust. This is also part of our vision to change the way society views insurance so that more people can celebrate life with peace of mind,” concluded Ang.
