Residents of Pemalang, Central Java, are unable to receive
private television stations like RCTI, SCTV and AN-Teve. We are
very disappointed about this matter.

The well-off people can afford parabola antennae. But it is
too much for us. We are beginning to feel fed up with TVRI
broadcasts from Yogyakarta, which often broadcast programs of
village affairs, regional news, and other subjects that have
local values.

We appeal to the authorities to give equal opportunity to the
Pemalang community to watch programs from private television
stations.
