Jakarta (ANTARA) - Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto stated that the government will impose restrictions or regulations on the purchase of subsidised fuel oil (BBM) using barcodes, with a reasonable limit of 50 litres per vehicle.

“To ensure the distribution of BBM, the government will regulate purchases using the MyPertamina barcode with a reasonable limit of 50 litres per vehicle,” Airlangga said during a press conference on government policies in response to the global geopolitical situation, monitored online from Jakarta on Tuesday.

Furthermore, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia explained that the restriction on subsidised fuel purchases, such as biosolar and Pertalite, to 50 litres per day per vehicle for private four-wheeled vehicles is sufficient to fill the vehicle fully.

“As a former minibus driver, it’s reasonable and wise to fill a car with 50 litres in one day. That would fill the tank. One day. So we will encourage that,” Bahlil said.

The letter addresses the control of the distribution of certain types of fuel oil, specifically biosolar and the special assignment fuel type RON 90 petrol (Pertalite), by the assigned business entity (Pertamina) for motor vehicle transportation for passenger and/or goods transport.

The decree outlines the plan to limit Pertalite purchases, with individual/general motor vehicles for passenger and/or goods transport on four wheels limited to a maximum of 50 litres per day per vehicle.

Similar restrictions apply to motor vehicles for public services, such as ambulances, hearses, fire trucks, and garbage trucks.
