MANILA (DPA): Britain's Prince Andrew arrived in the
Philippines yesterday for a two-day visit, during which the
Prince was to meet with President Fidel Ramos and top military
officials.
The Prince, who is also the Duke of York and a lieutenant
commander in the British Royal Navy, was expected to discuss
military relations between the two countries in his meetings with
Ramos and senior armed forces officers.
Another aim of the visit is to highlight the growing economic
ties between the two countries. Britain has become one of the
Philippines' top European investors and trading partners in the
last two years.
