Several food commodity prices have increased today, Friday (3/4/2026), based on data from the National Strategic Food Price Information Centre (PIHPS) managed by Bank Indonesia (BI). The highest average price increase occurred for fresh medium-sized shallots, reaching Rp48,500/kg. This price rose by up to Rp2,400 compared to the previous day, Thursday (2/4/2026). Rice prices also rose, with low-quality II rice increasing by Rp900 to Rp15,400/kg. Medium I quality rice also increased by Rp150 from the previous day to Rp16,200/kg, and medium II quality rice became Rp16,050/kg, up Rp150 from yesterday. Broiler chicken meat was also recorded to have increased today to an average of Rp44,100/kg across all provinces in Indonesia, up Rp550 from yesterday. Beef quality 2 also rose by Rp1,300 to Rp142,200/kg. Premium quality sugar increased by Rp500 to Rp20,550/kg, and local granulated sugar rose by Rp200 to Rp19,050/kg. Branded packaged cooking oil 1 and 2 both increased, by Rp150 and Rp350 respectively from yesterday, to Rp23,100/kg and Rp22,250/kg. Among the food commodities that declined were fresh chicken eggs, down around Rp1,100 to Rp32,500. Medium-sized garlic became Rp40,050, down Rp200 from yesterday. For the rice group, those that fell were super I quality rice by Rp200 to Rp17,050/kg, and super II quality rice by Rp100 to Rp16,700/kg. Beef quality 1 was also recorded to have declined to Rp148,950/kg, down Rp250. Red bird’s eye chillies experienced the deepest decline of Rp850 from yesterday to Rp83,650/kg, along with green bird’s eye chillies which fell Rp17 to Rp43,550. Red curly chillies and large red chillies also dropped to Rp43,600/kg and Rp49,900 respectively from yesterday, with price declines of Rp7,500 and Rp2,100.
