Presidential Chief of Staff Dudung Highlights Numerous Corruption Vulnerabilities in MBG Programme, Including Sale and Purchase of Kitchen Sites
JAKARTA - Presidential Chief of Staff (KSP) General (Retired) Dudung Abdurachman stated that there are numerous opportunities for corruption in the execution of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme. “There are many loopholes, many loopholes (for corruption in MBG),” Dudung said after meeting representatives from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) at the Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday (5/5/2026). Dudung explained that, based on the information he received, the most significant corruption risks lie in the buying and selling of MBG kitchen sites. “Yes, SPPG sites. Kitchen sites, yes,” Dudung added. In addition to corruption issues, Dudung said he would personally intervene if cases of MBG-related food poisoning were discovered in certain areas. He emphasised that he would directly inspect the quality of the MBG kitchens producing the toxic food.
