Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto received the final report and recommendations from the Commission for Accelerating Reform of the Republic of Indonesia National Police (Polri), which were handed over by Jimly Asshiddiqie, the commission’s chairman, at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday.

The President received several books, including those titled “Jembatan Aspirasi untuk Reformasi Polri” and “Tindak Lanjut Rekomendasi”, as observed in a post from the Presidential Secretariat.

The handover was also attended by members of the Commission for Accelerating Reform of Polri, namely Ahmad Dofiri, Yusril Ihza Mahendra, Otto Hasibuan, Supratman Andi Agtas, and Mahfud MD.

Also present were Minister of State Secretariat Prasetyo Hadi and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

Previously, Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Correctional Services Yusril Ihza Mahendra stated that the compiled report varies in thickness, from thousands of pages to concise summaries.

Its contents consist of various proposals and recommendations from the Commission for Accelerating Reform of Polri to carry out improvements in the police institution.

Yusril emphasised that the submitted recommendations are substantive and have the potential to bring major changes to the police institutional system. Indeed, several proposals are considered capable of impacting revisions to the current Police Law.

“If approved, there will be implications for changes to the existing Polri law,” Yusril stated.

Meanwhile, Jimly Asshiddiqie said the submitted report consists of several documents, but he has not yet detailed the contents of the recommendations.

“I’ll report later on what is approved and what is not,” he said.

The Commission for Accelerating Reform of Polri itself was established on 7 November 2025, comprising 10 members, through Presidential Decree Number 122/P of 2025. Its formation is intended to accelerate the process of institutional reform, professionalism, and governance in the Polri institution.
