President Prabowo to Present Performance Achievements on 16 August
President Prabowo Subianto has committed to delivering a comprehensive report on the government’s achievements and progress in the Plenary Session of the DPR RI on 16 August 2026. The agenda coincides with the national address and the presentation of the Notes on Finance and the RAPBN ahead of Indonesia’s 81st Independence Day.
‘The government I lead is determined to return to this podium in August to report the progress achieved ahead of our country’s 81st independence day,’ President Prabowo said, as reported by Antara, on Wednesday 20 May.
One of the main points to be reported is the strengthening of the people’s economy through the Merah Putih Cooperatives (Koperasi Merah Putih). Currently, 1,061 cooperatives have been operating as the foundation for the national logistics framework.
The government aims for massive expansion to 20,000 units by August and is projected to reach 60,000 units by year-end to maintain logistics stability at the grassroots level.
In addition to the cooperatives, the President emphasised accelerating domestic downstream to confront the global energy crisis. The main focus includes speeding up biodiesel production from Crude Palm Oil (CPO) and studies into converting palm oil into petrol, processing coal into diesel and gas.
Utilisation of agricultural waste (corn stalks) for cheap cooking energy, and construction of Solar PV plants with a target capacity of 100 gigawatts (GW) within three years. (Z-10)
The President instructed ministers and heads of agencies to cleanse bureaucracy of extortion and corruption in order to maintain national economic stability.
Deni Yusup, Director of Nusantara Riset Indonesia, noted that the survey results indicate a gap between government achievements and public expectations.
Public satisfaction with the performance of the Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka administration reached 80.17 percent according to the latest national survey.
The public still places considerable trust in Prabowo, but the government needs to refine several strategic sectors.
LSI notes that the public still views government performance positively in national security (48.5%), national politics (9.4%), and law (8.3%).
It also highlights several priority programmes that are perceived to have direct impact on the people, such as Free Nutritious Meals and the People’s School.
