President Prabowo Invites All Former Presidents and Vice Presidents to Discuss Global Geopolitical Situation
President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to invite all former Indonesian Presidents and Vice Presidents for a courtesy visit at the State Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday evening, 3 March. The gathering is described as a strategic forum to discuss current global geopolitical developments and their impact on Indonesia.
Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, Daily Chairman of the Gerindra Party Central Board, confirmed the report. He explained that the main agenda of Prabowo’s meeting during the Ramadan month is to strengthen national consolidation among leading figures amid global uncertainty.
“Firstly, the invitation is naturally about a courtesy visit, especially during this Ramadan month. Secondly, President Prabowo wishes to provide an update to former presidents regarding the latest geopolitical situation following President Prabowo’s recent overseas visits,” Dasco said at Parliament Complex in Senayan, Central Jakarta on Tuesday, 3 March.
Furthermore, Dasco revealed that President Prabowo wishes to gather input and suggestions from his predecessors to formulate national mitigation planning. This relates to various impacts of the current international situation now being felt by Indonesia.
“President Prabowo wishes to listen to input to be considered in formulating mitigation planning for the nation and state from the impacts we know are currently occurring, which may also affect our country,” he added.
When asked about which former presidents and vice presidents would attend Prabowo’s invitation, Dasco stressed that invitations have been sent to all former heads of state and heads of government without exception. However, he could not confirm which figures had confirmed their attendance at that time.
“All former presidents are invited. But I am not in a position to know who has confirmed attendance and who has not yet been able to attend,” explained the Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives.
