President Fully Anticipating Middle East Conflict Impact; Indonesia's Economy Remains Strong: Bappisus
The head of the Special Development Control and Investigation Agency (Bappisus), Aris Marsudiyanto, has called on the public not to worry about the economic impact of war in the Middle East, asserting that Indonesia’s current economic condition remains strong.
Aris made the statement upon arriving at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Tuesday (10 March 2026) for a limited meeting with President Prabowo Subianto. He was uncertain about the specific agenda for the meeting.
“I don’t know what it’s about, but I’ve been called, so there must be something. Of course, there will be things we need to discuss with the President,” said Aris.
Aris went on to emphasise that Indonesia’s current situation is relatively safe amid turbulent geopolitical conditions, particularly in the Middle East. He assured that supplies of energy, food, and fuel are sufficient.
“But in principle, everything is fine. Food is already available, everything is fine. Energy, fuel — you don’t need to worry. All stocks are in good order, everything is adequate,” he stated.
Aris stressed that President Prabowo Subianto has carefully calculated all aspects and is fully committed to anticipating challenges through coordination with all ministries.
“Everything has been calculated. In principle, Indonesia’s economy is strong, no need to worry about conflicts between America, Israel, and Iran,” said Aris.
“We’re already anticipating it with all relevant ministries. The President also brought everyone together recently. We hold all-out meetings at all times for the nation and state,” he added.
Aris also revealed there are no plans to raise fuel prices at present. He expressed hope that the Middle East conflict will end quickly.
“There is no fuel price increase. Hopefully, the war will end soon,” he concluded.
