President Tells Pastika to Facilitate Investment in Bali

Pastika Promises Clear and Precise Information for Potential Investors in Bali.

(9/6/2008) The State News Agency Antara reports that President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has asked the Province of Bali to establish procedures that will facilitate investment in Bali.

The President's request was delivered to Bali's recently elected Governor, Made Mangku Pastika, at a meeting held in Jakarta on Friday, September 05, 2008.

In discussing the President's request with Antara, Pastika said: "To meet those requirements, one effort that will be undertaken by the provincial government is to give clear information to investors. This must be done because we are not merely opening our door wide to investors."

Mangku Pastika said potential investors will be given information about the potentials and opportunities for investors in Bali.

Pastika added: "We will also improve the licensing and permit process. There must be a certainty on costs, time for processing and the laws governing all investors. Sectors open for investment, in addition to tourism, are agriculture and infrastructure projects."
