Pramono Urges DKI's Local Companies to Undertake House Renovation Programme
Jakarta (ANTARA) – Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung Wibowo is encouraging all Regional State-Owned Enterprises (BUMD) to implement house renovation programmes as an effort to improve housing quality and public welfare in the capital.
Today, Pramono officially handed over 26 renovated homes resulting from a collaboration between Baznas Bazis DKI Jakarta and several Regional State-Owned Enterprises (BUMD), State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) and private companies.
“So, certainly all BUMD are given the opportunity. Today, those collaborating with Baznas Bazis are PAM Jaya and Dharma Jaya. The BUMN partners include Pertamina and Pegadaian. The private sector partners also include Tokio Marine and PT Malahayati,” said Pramono when encountered in the Serdang area, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, on Monday.
For the Baznas Bazis housing programme, Pramono explained that a budget of between Rp50 million and Rp55 million per house is required.
Whilst homes are being renovated, residents temporarily rent or stay in boarding houses. The rental costs are also covered by Baznas Bazis.
Since 2019 until 2025, Baznas Bazis has renovated 3,509 homes. In detail, 706 homes in West Jakarta, 501 homes in Central Jakarta, 953 homes in South Jakarta, 1,162 homes in East Jakarta, 293 homes in North Jakarta and 79 homes in the Thousand Islands.
Previously, DKI Jakarta’s Deputy Governor Rano Karno hoped that the provincial government’s departments would have house renovation programmes as a demonstration of care and mutual cooperation to improve residents’ welfare in the capital. He stated that housing is one of Jakarta’s main challenges. According to the deputy governor, the current population exceeds the carrying capacity of the land area.
For this reason, the DKI Jakarta provincial government is building apartment complexes that also aim to rehabilitate substandard settlements.
