Pramono Says Buskers on JakLingko Services Must Be Removed
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has responded to a viral video showing buskers aboard a JakLingko vehicle in East Jakarta. He said busking is not allowed on public transport and that anyone found doing so must be dealt with.
“Buskers are already prohibited from boarding public transport. So if there are still any, they must be removed,” Pramono said in the Pasar Minggu area of South Jakarta on Tuesday (13 October 2026).
Pramono said the Jakarta provincial government supported enforcement to maintain public order and residents’ comfort in the capital. This support applied not only to buskers on public transport, but also to other enforcement activities carried out by officers in the field.
He said public order was important to the management of Jakarta and called for the rules to be upheld.
“The Jakarta provincial government fully supports matters relating to enforcement in Jakarta; in this case, I, as governor, give it my support,” he said.
Pramono nevertheless stressed that enforcement should prioritise dialogue and deliberation when problems arise between officers and members of the public.
Passengers using the JakLingko service in the Kampung Melayu area of East Jakarta had previously complained of being disturbed by buskers aboard a vehicle. The video went viral on social media.
Footage posted on social media and viewed by detikcom on Friday (2 October) showed several buskers boarding a JakLingko vehicle in Kampung Melayu and singing inside it.
