Pramono Opens Ramadan Bazaar at City Hall, 3,000 Food Packages Sold Out
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung opened the Prime Ramadan Bazaar Jakarta 2026 at Jakarta City Hall. All 3,000 subsidised food packages were quickly purchased by residents.
Pramono said the Ramadan bazaar would run for two days, on 9-10 March 2026. The event was a result of collaboration between several Jakarta municipal enterprises (BUMDs).
“Today at City Hall, there is the Prime Ramadan Bazaar Jakarta 2026, which runs for two days, from 9 to 10 March. I also saw several of the traders here,” Pramono said at City Hall on Monday (9 March 2026).
He explained that the bazaar involved several municipal enterprises, namely Food Station Tjipinang Jaya, Perumda Dharma Jaya, and Perumda Pasar Jaya. Additionally, transactions at the bazaar were conducted via non-cash payment using QRIS, supported by Bank Jakarta.
Pramono said the food packages sold at the bazaar were priced at 100,000 Indonesian rupiah, but the value of the goods inside reached 150,000 rupiah.
“There are 3,000 packages here, and again, they are priced at 100,000 rupiah but their actual value is 150,000 rupiah,” he said.
According to him, the programme was expected to help residents obtain basic necessities at more affordable prices during Ramadan. He also said he spoke with several residents who came to the bazaar.
Pramono said many residents came from locations quite far from City Hall to take advantage of the programme. He added that some of the residents who came were also recipients of assistance from the Jakarta provincial government, such as beneficiaries of the Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) and the free public transport programme.
“When I asked where they were from, they were mostly quite far from City Hall. This means they came specifically, and surely used public transport,” he said.
Going forward, similar Ramadan bazaars would not only be held at City Hall. The Jakarta provincial government planned to hold them at sub-district offices and the Thousand Islands regency office.
“Later they will be held at the sub-district offices and the Thousand Islands regency office,” he said.
On the occasion, Pramono also toured the bazaar traders and bought a sarong being sold at the location. He said he was looking for a sarong with a particular design.
“I bought the sarong intentionally. This is the colour I have been looking for, and it happened to be available,” he said.
