Pramono: Jakarta Open to Arrivals After Eid al-Fitr, No yustisi Operations
Jakarta – Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has assured that he will not implement yustisi operations or special inspections of newcomers to Jakarta after Eid al-Fitr 2026. He emphasised that Jakarta remains open to anyone who wishes to come and seek employment.
“Jakarta will remain open to everyone. Therefore I will not order for yustisi to be conducted or screening for that. So Jakarta remains open to everyone,” Pramono said when he was interviewed at Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM) in Central Jakarta, Saturday (7 March 2026).
He added that the opportunity to work in Jakarta is also open to people from various regions. “The space to work in Jakarta is also open,” he said.
However, Pramono reminded that the global situation at present is unsettled, so all parties need to exercise caution. He referenced several conflicts ongoing in the world, such as the war between Russia and Ukraine and tensions in the Middle East involving Israel, Iran, and the United States. “In my view, we must be fully cautious,” he said.
Nevertheless, according to him, the Jakarta Provincial Government has made various preparations ahead of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr, especially to ensure the availability of essential goods. “Jakarta has prepared long in advance, particularly regarding key needs such as rice, meat, red chillies, curly chillies, and so on,” he said. He stressed that food stocks in Jakarta are currently secure, even more than sufficient. “Stock in Jakarta is safe, more than enough. Hopefully there will not be a significant increase in prices. I believe this is because stock is indeed abundant,” Pramono said.
