I have instructed the Public Order Agency, the mayor, sub-district officials and other relevant parties to take firm action against anyone who does not have a PBG.

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung Wibowo, has instructed relevant parties to take action against padel courts that do not have a Building Approval Permit (PBG).

“I have instructed the Public Order Agency, the mayor, sub-district officials and other relevant parties to take firm action against anyone who does not have a PBG. Because that is an absolute requirement,” said Pramono at the Jakarta Education Office, Thursday (26/2).

Pramono emphasised that having a PBG is a requirement for every construction project, including sports facilities.

The enforcement is carried out to ensure spatial order and compliance with applicable regulations.

According to him, the Jakarta Provincial Government also pays special attention to land use, especially green open spaces. He emphasised that this area should not be converted into padel courts.

“Thus, order in construction in Jakarta is also important, including green open spaces which are not allowed to be used for padel courts,” explained Pramono.

Previously, the Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung, asked for padel courts that do not have a Building Approval Permit (PBG) to be demolished.

The Head of the Department of Public Works, Spatial Planning and Land Affairs (Citata), Vera Revina Sari, said that only 212 padel courts in Jakarta have a PBG.

“The rate of development of padel courts is indeed extraordinary. As of February 23, 2026, 212 padel courts have been recorded as having a PBG,” said Vera.

Vera said that there are 185 padel courts that do not have a PBG. Including courts that do not have a PBG, there are a total of 397 padel courts in Jakarta.

Pramono has also ordered that padel courts that do not have a PBG be immediately shut down, demolished and their business licenses revoked.
