Jakarta, Kompas.com — Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung inaugurated the revitalisation of Pari Island harbour whilst conducting a Ramadan safari visit to the Thousand Islands on Friday, 13 March 2026.

The inauguration took place after Pramono and provincial government officials inspected several public service programmes across islands in the Thousand Islands archipelago.

“In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful and Compassionate, on this Friday, 13 March 2026, I hereby declare the revitalisation of Pari Island harbour officially inaugurated,” Pramono said during the ceremony.

The harbour features a large main building with minimalist modern design. The roof is broad and flat with grey colouring, whilst the front facade is decorated with patterned panels. Access to the building has been improved with gentle ramps facilitating pedestrian movement, including for elderly visitors and wheelchair users.

The harbour is equipped with a nursing room, toilets, prayer room, and information service centre. Pramono stated that the Ramadan safari aimed to ensure government programmes function effectively across island territories. He noted that the delegation had visited two islands — Pramuka Island and Pari Island — to directly observe various public service programmes.

“As governor, I want to ensure that all programmes initiated by the Jakarta provincial government operate effectively on every island we visit,” he said.

Beyond the harbour inauguration, Pramono inspected a discount market bazaar providing approximately 1,000 food aid packages to residents. During the visit, the provincial government distributed Free Service Cards to about 1,108 residents and distributed free spectacles through cooperation with optician business organisations.

Pramono also inspected Panggang 02 Primary School building and inaugurated a Domestic Wastewater Management System (SPALD) facility constructed for sanitation across the island region.

“We also visited Panggang 02 Primary School building, and we inaugurated the SPALD facility, which I observed directly and found to be of very good quality,” Pramono said.

He expressed hope that the harbour development and various government programmes could improve public services and facilitate community activities across the Thousand Islands.

“Hopefully this will bring benefits to residents in the Thousand Islands,” Pramono concluded.
