Pramono Hands Over 26 Houses from Baznas Housing Rehabilitation Programme
Jakarta — Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo formally handed over 26 refurbished houses from the National Zakat Collection Board (Baznas) and Jakarta’s Zakat and Alms Institution (Bazis) housing rehabilitation programme to beneficiary residents in the Serdang area, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.
The current housing rehabilitation programme represents a collaboration between Baznas/Bazis DKI Jakarta, several Regional State-Owned Enterprises (BUMD), State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), and private companies.
“Today we are formally handing over 26 houses. These consist of 10 units in Central Jakarta, 11 units in South Jakarta, 1 unit in North Jakarta, and 2 units in West Jakarta. I have asked the organisers to ensure that people of all religions are given the opportunity to benefit from this housing programme,” Pramono said when met in the Serdang area, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, on Monday.
Pramono explained that a budget of between Rp50 million to Rp55 million is required to conduct each house renovation. During the renovation period, residents are provided with temporary rental accommodation or boarding houses. The costs for these temporary arrangements are also borne by Baznas Bazis.
Various enterprises participated in the project: PAM Jaya renovated 15 houses, Dharma Jaya 10 houses, Pertamina 8 houses, Pegadaian 2 houses, Tokio Marine 5 houses, and PT Malahayati Nusantara Raya 16 houses.
Previously, Jakarta’s Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) had also conducted a housing rehabilitation project in February. The unit targeted a building with a total area of 33.83 square metres in Kapuk, Cengkareng, West Jakarta.
“The housing rehabilitation programme focused on a house occupied by three heads of household comprising 8 people, two of whom are persons with disabilities,” said Jakarta’s Satpol PP Head, Satriadi Gunawan.
The renovated building was approximately 40 years old and suffered from a leaking roof, inadequate bathroom facilities, unplastered walls, unsuitable ceiling, and non-standard electrical installations. Given these conditions, the building no longer met safety standards and required repair to improve the quality of life for its occupants.
The building comprised three units: the first measuring 1.23 metres by 5.5 metres, the second measuring 2.46 metres by 5.5 metres, and the third measuring 2.46 metres by 5.5 metres. The housing rehabilitation activities are scheduled from February through April 2026 with a budget of Rp70 million, which is a contribution from Satpol PP DKI members.
