Pramono Distributes KJMU Cards to 2,524 Students across 69 State Universities
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung handed over Jakarta Superior Student Cards (KJMU) to 2,524 university students during the Phase 2 New Recipient Orientation Forum for KJMU 2025, held at Jakarta City Hall on Thursday (19 February 2026).
The total number of Phase 2 KJMU recipients this year reached 16,920 students, comprising 2,524 new recipients and 14,396 continuing recipients.
“I have asked Bu Nana (Jakarta Education Agency Head Nahdiana) to establish a forum for KJMU recipients so they can communicate, build relationships, share experiences and also practise organisational skills,” Pramono said.
Pramono stressed that education is the key to breaking cycles of disadvantage within families. He shared that he was able to pursue his studies up to doctoral level thanks to scholarships he received from senior high school through to university.
“The way to break the cycle of disadvantage in a family is through education. I lived on scholarships from senior high school all the way to my doctorate,” he said.
Pramono also opened the possibility that KJMU could in future fund not only undergraduate degrees but also be extended to cover master’s and doctoral programmes for academically high-achieving students.
“If their academic performance is strong, they could continue to a master’s or even a doctoral degree,” he said.
Pramono urged the students to make the most of the opportunity, advising them not to focus solely on academics but also to be active in organisations to build character and leadership skills.
“Besides studying diligently, use the opportunity to join organisations. That is what will forge your character,” he said.
Pramono expressed hope that KJMU recipients would use this moment as a stepping stone towards achieving higher aspirations.
“Momentum like this does not come around repeatedly. Use this opportunity for yourselves, your families and your futures,” he added.
Meanwhile, Jakarta Education Agency Head Nahdiana said the 16,920 Phase 2 KJMU recipients for 2025 are spread across 97 state universities throughout Indonesia and 17 private universities within the DKI Jakarta region.
Of the 2,524 new recipients, students are enrolled at 69 state universities and 16 private universities. At the orientation event, 100 students attended in person whilst approximately 500 others participated online.
Nahdiana said the orientation forum not only ensures that assistance reaches the right recipients but also strengthens mentoring and support for the students.
“This forum serves as a platform for communication, network building and leadership development for KJMU recipient students,” she concluded.
