Jakarta (ANTARA) – Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung Wibowo has banned traders of sacrificial animals from selling in locations that disrupt public activity, particularly on pavements, in gardens and in parks across the capital.

“I have issued instructions not to sell in places that disrupt public activity, especially on pavements, in gardens, and in parks,” Pramono told reporters at Jakarta City Hall on Wednesday.

Pramono said traders found selling in prohibited locations will be given a warning to move their stalls to appropriate locations.

“People like that will be given a warning and they must not sell,” he said.

In addition to sale locations, Pramono assured that the prices of sacrificial animals in Jakarta remain relatively stable ahead of Eid al-Adha 1447 AH. He also noted that stock of cattle and goats is available in sufficient quantities.

“Alhamdulillah, to date the prices of sacrificial animals in Jakarta have not risen and are relatively stable. The number of sacrificial animals, whether cattle or goats, etc., is currently fully available in Jakarta,” he said.

Moreover, he added, several regions are now sourcing their sacrificial animals from Jakarta. This demonstrates the readiness of the supply managed by the DKI Jakarta food BUMD. “In fact, several regions have ended up taking their sacrificial animals from Jakarta. This shows that the BUMD responsible for this, among them Dharma Jaya, is preparing well,” he said.
