Prabowo: Two-State Solution with an Independent Palestine
President Prabowo Subianto stated that Indonesia is prepared to undertake various efforts to promote the achievement of peace in Palestine. According to Prabowo, a two-state solution with an independent Palestine is the only path towards sustainable peace.
The Head of State conveyed this during the introduction of a bilateral meeting with the King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein.

“Yes, Indonesia is committed to doing whatever we can to achieve a lasting solution. In our view, the only truly sustainable solution is a two-state solution with an independent Palestine,” Prabowo said at the Basman Palace, Amman, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, as quoted from the official statement of the Presidential Secretariat.
The former Minister of Defense explained that Indonesia’s involvement in the Board of Peace and its support for the 20-point plan initiated by US President Donald Trump are part of Indonesia’s active contribution in seeking a long-term solution to the conflict in the Palestinian territories. “All of this is done with the aim and effort to do whatever we can, in order to achieve that lasting solution,” said Prabowo.
Indonesia officially participated in the Board of Peace initiated by US President Donald Trump on Thursday, January 22, 2026. President Prabowo even signed the Board of Peace charter during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
Less than a month later, Prabowo attended the inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace in Washington, D.C., United States. Also present at the event were President Trump, US Vice President James David Vance, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, special envoy Steve Witkoff, and senior White House advisor and Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner.
Several other leaders of member countries who were also present included those from Albania, Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Kazakhstan, Hungary, Pakistan, Paraguay, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, and Egypt. There were also representatives from Belarus, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, and Israel.
At the summit, Prabowo reiterated Indonesia’s readiness to send troops to the Gaza Strip along with the Board of Peace. Indonesia was also appointed as the deputy commander of the troops.
After attending the inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace, Prabowo claimed that the situation in the Gaza Strip, Palestine had improved. The Palestinian territory, which borders Egypt and Israel, had previously been under Israeli military attack.
Prabowo said that the situation in Gaza is now better than it has been in recent years. He believes that the people of Gaza have received enough basic necessities.
“While I think the flow of food aid, the needs of the people of Gaza, I think it is the highest in recent years. So, food is sufficient, other needs are flowing in,” Prabowo said in Washington D.C., United States, on Thursday, February 19, 2026 local time.
According to Prabowo, Indonesia is determined to achieve success through the Board of Peace for the Palestinian people. “We are of course committed, earlier several Muslim countries all reaffirmed our commitment to truly achieve lasting peace,” he said.
