In our view, the only truly sustainable solution is a\ntwo-state solution with an independent Palestine,\u201d Prabowo said at the\nBasman Palace, Amman, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, on Wednesday,\nFebruary 25, 2026, as quoted from the official statement of the\nPresidential Secretariat.<\/p>\n<p>The former Minister of Defense explained that Indonesia\u2019s involvement\nin the Board of Peace and its support for the 20-point plan initiated by\nUS President Donald Trump are part of Indonesia\u2019s active contribution in\nseeking a long-term solution to the conflict in the Palestinian\nterritories. \u201cAll of this is done with the aim and effort to do whatever\nwe can, in order to achieve that lasting solution,\u201d said Prabowo.<\/p>\n<p>Indonesia officially participated in the Board of Peace initiated by\nUS President Donald Trump on Thursday, January 22, 2026. President\nPrabowo even signed the Board of Peace charter during the World Economic\nForum in Davos, Switzerland.<\/p>\n<p>Less than a month later, Prabowo attended the inaugural meeting of\nthe Board of Peace in Washington, D.C., United States. Also present at\nthe event were President Trump, US Vice President James David Vance, US\nSecretary of State Marco Rubio, special envoy Steve Witkoff, and senior\nWhite House advisor and Trump\u2019s son-in-law, Jared Kushner.<\/p>\n<p>Several other leaders of member countries who were also present\nincluded those from Albania, Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain,\nKazakhstan, Hungary, Pakistan, Paraguay, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, and Egypt.\nThere were also representatives from Belarus, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi\nArabia, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, and Israel.<\/p>\n<p>At the summit, Prabowo reiterated Indonesia\u2019s readiness to send\ntroops to the Gaza Strip along with the Board of Peace. Indonesia was\nalso appointed as the deputy commander of the troops.<\/p>\n<p>After attending the inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace, Prabowo\nclaimed that the situation in the Gaza Strip, Palestine had improved.\nThe Palestinian territory, which borders Egypt and Israel, had\npreviously been under Israeli military attack.<\/p>\n<p>Prabowo said that the situation in Gaza is now better than it has\nbeen in recent years. He believes that the people of Gaza have received\nenough basic necessities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile I think the flow of food aid, the needs of the people of Gaza,\nI think it is the highest in recent years.
