Prabowo to Fly to the Philippines on Thursday, Attend ASEAN Summit

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to fly to the Philippines on Thursday (7/5/2026) to attend the 48th ASEAN Summit in Cebu, Philippines.

The head of the Special Development Control and Investigation Agency (Bappisus), Aris Marsudiyanto, revealed that Prabowo will attend the summit in the Philippines due to the important nature of its agenda.

“It seems he will likely attend as well, because it is of an important nature. But the details will be explained by the relevant ministers or by the President himself,” Aris stated at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Tuesday (5/5/2026).

He mentioned that State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi and Foreign Minister Sugiono are more authorised to provide explanations regarding Prabowo’s overseas visit.

“If I’m not mistaken, what date? The 7th? But that will be explained definitively later. It’s not good for me to preempt,” he said.
