President Prabowo Subianto has returned to Indonesia following his visit to France, bringing back cooperation agreements worth Rp61.25 trillion.

According to the Government Communication Agency (Bakom) of Indonesia, on Saturday, 30 May 2026, the two nations strengthened collaboration in strategic sectors including the economy, investment, trade, and defence.

The visit resulted in the launch of the France-Indonesia High Level Business Council, bringing together business leaders from both countries, which led to new commercial agreements.

“The launch of the business council has resulted in four new commercial agreements worth $3.5 billion, or Rp61.25 trillion (at an exchange rate of Rp17,500/USD), focused on energy security, trade, and defence cooperation,” Bakom stated on 30 May 2026.

Investment and Downstreaming Minister and Head of BKPM Rosan Roeslani said the establishment of the France-Indonesia High Level Business Council marks a significant milestone in strengthening economic ties between Indonesia and France.

The high-level business council was officially launched on 28 May 2026, witnessed by President Prabowo Subianto and French President Emmanuel Macron.

“This forum serves not only as a platform for business dialogue but also as a driving force to promote investment, trade, and strategic cooperation that delivers tangible benefits for both nations,” Roeslani said in a written statement released by the Press, Media, and Information Bureau.

The forum brought together 30 leading company executives and industry representatives from both countries, whose combined market capitalisation totals $1.3 trillion. The council is co-chaired by MEDEF International’s Chair for the France-Indonesia Business Council and Danone CEO Antoine de Saint-Affrique, alongside Kadin Indonesia Chairman Anindya Bakrie.

Roeslani noted that the launch of the business council also secured four new commercial agreements totalling $3.5 billion, spanning energy security, trade, and defence cooperation.
