President Prabowo Subianto has launched the “Palace for Schoolchildren” programme. The programme opens opportunities for schoolchildren to visit the Presidential Palace.

“Today we open the Palace for schoolchildren for the nation’s future generations,” said Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya after the visit of SMKN 19 Jakarta to the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday (7/4).

Teddy described the policy as the government’s commitment to strengthening the quality of human resources (HR).

He stated that this goal is also reflected in other government programmes such as nutritious meals, school renovations, provision of educational facilities, and improvements in teacher welfare.

Through this activity, students are invited to participate in discussions and question-and-answer sessions as well as tour the Palace to learn about the nation’s history and government system.

The students will also be taken to see various important rooms in the Palace.

“We invite them to see the places where major national decisions have been made,” he said.

Teddy also conveyed that this programme is not limited to Merdeka Palace and State Palace, but will be expanded to all Presidential Palaces in various regions of Indonesia.

“We have eight, so each Palace will be opened for schoolchildren as well. For those outside Jakarta or even outside Java, they will be facilitated to come here,” he said.

Schools from various regions, including those outside Java, will be facilitated to participate in this activity.

He also encouraged schools wishing to join the “Palace for Schoolchildren” programme to register with the Ministry of State Secretariat or the Cabinet Secretariat.

“There is no selection for it. So please register as I mentioned earlier, and then it will be arranged by the organisers,” he said.
