President Prabowo Subianto has invited entrepreneurs from Russia to invest and collaborate in the development of industries in Indonesia. This statement was made by Prabowo while attending the 11th Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) held at Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU), Vladivostok, Russia, on Thursday (3/9/2026).

In a forum attended by heads of state, high-ranking officials, and business players, Prabowo emphasised that Indonesia is opening opportunities for broader economic cooperation with Russia. He stressed that this cooperation is not limited to trade, but also encompasses investment, joint production, and industrial development that can benefit both nations.

“Come to Indonesia. Work with us. Produce with us. Let us build industries together. Let us create value together,” said Prabowo.

He also introduced Indonesia’s strategic position as an entry point to wider markets in the Southeast Asian and Indo-Pacific regions.

According to Prabowo, joint industrial development in Indonesia will provide opportunities for Russian entrepreneurs to not only reach consumers in Indonesia but also expand their markets to countries in the region.

“And from Indonesia, let us together reach the wider ASEAN and Indo-Pacific markets,” he added.

The Role of Danantara in Investment Cooperation

On that occasion, Prabowo also introduced the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (Danantara) as one of the instruments that can strengthen investment relations between Indonesia and Russia.

He explained that Danantara is a sovereign wealth fund with managed assets reaching USD 1 trillion, which is expected to serve as a bridge to unite strategic interests and capital from both countries.

“Danantara can be the bridge where the capital markets and the strategic interests of Russia and Indonesia meet,” Prabowo explained.

He also highlighted the importance of cooperation between Danantara and the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), hoping that the relationship between these two investment institutions can evolve from merely identifying opportunities to financing concrete, financially viable projects.

Prabowo emphasised that economic cooperation between Indonesia and Russia must result in real, measurable, and accountable projects. He asserted that every agreement reached must go beyond mere signings or statements of cooperation, and must include clarity regarding investment value, sources of funding, targets, and stages of implementation.

“Every announced agreement must specify its value, its financing scheme, and its implementation stages,” concluded Prabowo.
