President Prabowo Subianto has invited entrepreneurs from Russia to\ninvest and collaborate in the development of industries in Indonesia.\nThis statement was made by Prabowo while attending the 11th Eastern\nEconomic Forum (EEF) held at Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU),\nVladivostok, Russia, on Thursday (3\/9\/2026).<\/p>\n
In a forum attended by heads of state, high-ranking officials, and\nbusiness players, Prabowo emphasised that Indonesia is opening\nopportunities for broader economic cooperation with Russia. He stressed\nthat this cooperation is not limited to trade, but also encompasses\ninvestment, joint production, and industrial development that can\nbenefit both nations.<\/p>\n
\u201cCome to Indonesia. Work with us. Produce with us. Let us build\nindustries together. Let us create value together,\u201d said Prabowo.<\/p>\n
He also introduced Indonesia\u2019s strategic position as an entry point\nto wider markets in the Southeast Asian and Indo-Pacific regions.<\/p>\n
According to Prabowo, joint industrial development in Indonesia will\nprovide opportunities for Russian entrepreneurs to not only reach\nconsumers in Indonesia but also expand their markets to countries in the\nregion.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd from Indonesia, let us together reach the wider ASEAN and\nIndo-Pacific markets,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
The Role of Danantara in Investment Cooperation<\/strong><\/p>\n On that occasion, Prabowo also introduced the Daya Anagata Nusantara\nInvestment Management Agency (Danantara) as one of the instruments that\ncan strengthen investment relations between Indonesia and Russia.<\/p>\n He explained that Danantara is a sovereign wealth fund with managed\nassets reaching USD 1 trillion, which is expected to serve as a bridge\nto unite strategic interests and capital from both countries.<\/p>\n \u201cDanantara can be the bridge where the capital markets and the\nstrategic interests of Russia and Indonesia meet,\u201d Prabowo\nexplained.<\/p>\n He also highlighted the importance of cooperation between Danantara\nand the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), hoping that the\nrelationship between these two investment institutions can evolve from\nmerely identifying opportunities to financing concrete, financially\nviable projects.<\/p>\n Prabowo emphasised that economic cooperation between Indonesia and\nRussia must result in real, measurable, and accountable projects. He\nasserted that every agreement reached must go beyond mere signings or\nstatements of cooperation, and must include clarity regarding investment\nvalue, sources of funding, targets, and stages of implementation.<\/p>\n \u201cEvery announced agreement must specify its value, its financing\nscheme, and its implementation stages,\u201d concluded Prabowo.<\/p>",
