Prabowo Meets Chelsea Owner Todd Boehly in Washington
President Prabowo Subianto met with 12 American investors during his visit to Washington D.C. this week. Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said the business figures had previously worked with Danantara Indonesia.
According to Teddy, the investors included 12 of the largest entrepreneurs in the United States. "President Prabowo is opening the widest possible investment opportunities to build as many economic chains and jobs as possible that benefit Indonesia's domestic interests," Teddy said in a written statement on Saturday, 21 February 2026.
President Prabowo's meeting with the CEOs of global investment firms took place in Washington D.C. on Friday, 20 February 2026 local time. The discussion, originally scheduled for one hour, ran for two hours. Prabowo also held one-on-one sessions with each investor following the group forum.
During the meeting, Prabowo said Indonesia no longer wished to be known merely as "the sleeping giant." Teddy relayed that Prabowo declared Indonesia was entering a new phase as a confident, stable nation ready to become a new centre of global growth.

Also present was Armen Panossian, CEO of Oaktree and owner of Italian club Inter Milan. Others in attendance included Matt Harris from BlackRock Founding Partners and Global Infrastructure Partners; Martin Escobari, Co-President and Head of Global Growth Equity at General Atlantic; Al Rabil, CEO of Kayne Anderson; and Neil R. Brown, Managing Director of Global Institute Infrastructure at KKR.
Further investors included Michael Weinberg, Chairperson of the Investment Committee at Levine Leichtman Capital Partners (LLCP); Justin Metz, Managing Partner at Related Fund Management (RFM); Luke Taylor, Co-President of Stonepeak; Nabil Mallick, COO of Thrive Capital; Jeffrey Perlman, CEO of Warburg Pincus; and Seth Bernstein from Bernstein Equity Partners.
