Prabowo Meets 12 Prominent US Business Leaders — What Was Discussed?
President Prabowo Subianto met with 12 of the United States’ most prominent business figures in Washington DC. Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said the executives had previously collaborated with Danantara Indonesia, the entity managing the nation’s largest state-owned enterprise assets.
“This afternoon, President Prabowo received 12 of the biggest US business leaders in Washington DC, 20 February 2026. These executives have previously worked with Danantara Indonesia as the largest holder of SOE assets,” Teddy said in a statement issued by the Presidential Secretariat’s Press, Media and Information Bureau on Saturday.
The meeting was attended by a number of renowned global investment figures, including Todd L. Boehly, CEO of Eldridge Industries and owner of English Premier League club Chelsea and NBA franchise the LA Lakers, as well as Armen Panossian, CEO of Oaktree and owner of Italian club Inter Milan.
Also present were Matt Harris of BlackRock Founding Partners and Global Infrastructure Partners; Martin Escobari, Co-President and Head of Global Growth Equity at General Atlantic; Al Rabil, CEO of Kayne Anderson; Neil R. Brown, Managing Director of the Global Institute Infrastructure at KKR; Michael Weinberg, Chairperson of the Investment Committee at Levine Leichtman Capital Partners (LLCP); Justin Metz, Managing Partner of Related Fund Management (RFM); Luke Taylor, Co-President of Stonepeak; Nabil Mallick, COO of Thrive Capital; Jeffrey Perlman, CEO of Warburg Pincus; and Seth Bernstein of Bernstein Equity Partners.
Teddy explained that during the meeting, Prabowo affirmed the government’s commitment to creating a conducive investment climate. He said Indonesia was opening the door to mutually beneficial collaboration.
“President Prabowo is opening investment opportunities as widely as possible to build as many economic supply chains and jobs as possible that serve Indonesia’s domestic interests,” the written statement said.
Teddy added that the Washington DC meeting also signalled that Indonesia is entering a new phase as a confident, stable nation ready to become a new centre of global growth.
