Prabowo: Inaugural Board of Peace Meeting to Discuss Gaza Peace
President Prabowo Subianto revealed that the inaugural Board of Peace (BoP) meeting held on Thursday (19 February) would discuss efforts to achieve peace in Gaza, Palestine.
President Prabowo’s participation in the Board of Peace meeting in Washington D.C. included several world leaders, with Indonesia forming part of the “Group of Eight” — comprising Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Pakistan — which actively promotes peace efforts in Gaza, Palestine.
Indonesia stated it would use the Board of Peace to advocate for the protection of civilians, promote recovery and reconstruction of Gaza, and pursue just and sustainable peace for Palestine based on a two-state solution.
President Prabowo expressed optimism about developments in the humanitarian situation and peace efforts in Gaza, noting that concrete steps taken by various parties are beginning to show results, particularly in the distribution of aid to civilians in the region.
President Prabowo signed the Board of Peace charter, affirming Indonesia’s active role in safeguarding the implementation of a two-state solution. Indonesia’s participation underscores the country’s longstanding commitment to Palestinian statehood and its aspiration to play a more prominent role in global peace and stability efforts.
