“Moreover, Your Excellency, I have also come to consult because the world’s geopolitical situation is undergoing very rapid developments and changes,” the President said, as quoted from the live broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel on Monday.
In the meeting, Prabowo conveyed that the developments and changes in global geopolitics are occurring very quickly, necessitating views and input from other parties, including Russia.
Prabowo assessed that Russia has played a very positive role in addressing the uncertain global geopolitical dynamics.
“We view that Russia has played a very positive role in facing this geopolitical condition full of uncertainties,” he stated.
Prabowo assessed that Indonesia needs to conduct consultations to discuss steps to address the future situation, while also exploring efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
The areas of cooperation that are of particular attention include the economic and energy sectors as part of efforts to bolster relations between the two countries.
“Therefore, we feel it is very necessary to consult on how we face the future situation and, if possible, continue to strengthen cooperation, especially in the economic and energy sectors,” the President said.
On that occasion, the President also stated that he would personally handle several areas of cooperation between Indonesia and Russia that are deemed not yet optimal, particularly overseeing aspects of monetary relations.
Prabowo conveyed that most of the agreements discussed between Indonesia and Russia a few months ago have shown rapid progress.

Prabowo emphasised that he would take direct charge of handling sectors that require acceleration, particularly monetary relations between the two countries.
In addition, Prabowo also expressed appreciation to the Russian Government for the support provided to Indonesia, including in the process of Indonesia’s acceptance as a BRICS member, which is deemed to have proceeded quickly.
