Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto met with Russian\nPresident Vladimir Putin to consult on the global geopolitical\nsituation, deemed full of uncertainties, during a meeting at the Kremlin\nPalace in Moscow, Russia, on Monday local time.<\/p>\n
\u201cMoreover, Your Excellency, I have also come to consult because the\nworld\u2019s geopolitical situation is undergoing very rapid developments and\nchanges,\u201d the President said, as quoted from the live broadcast on the\nPresidential Secretariat\u2019s YouTube channel on Monday.<\/p>\n
In the meeting, Prabowo conveyed that the developments and changes in\nglobal geopolitics are occurring very quickly, necessitating views and\ninput from other parties, including Russia.<\/p>\n
Prabowo assessed that Russia has played a very positive role in\naddressing the uncertain global geopolitical dynamics.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe view that Russia has played a very positive role in facing this\ngeopolitical condition full of uncertainties,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
Prabowo assessed that Indonesia needs to conduct consultations to\ndiscuss steps to address the future situation, while also exploring\nefforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation.<\/p>\n
The areas of cooperation that are of particular attention include the\neconomic and energy sectors as part of efforts to bolster relations\nbetween the two countries.<\/p>\n
\u201cTherefore, we feel it is very necessary to consult on how we face\nthe future situation and, if possible, continue to strengthen\ncooperation, especially in the economic and energy sectors,\u201d the\nPresident said.<\/p>\n
On that occasion, the President also stated that he would personally\nhandle several areas of cooperation between Indonesia and Russia that\nare deemed not yet optimal, particularly overseeing aspects of monetary\nrelations.<\/p>\n
Prabowo conveyed that most of the agreements discussed between\nIndonesia and Russia a few months ago have shown rapid progress.<\/p>\n
However, according to him, there are still several areas that need to\nbe accelerated in their implementation.<\/p>\n
Prabowo emphasised that he would take direct charge of handling\nsectors that require acceleration, particularly monetary relations\nbetween the two countries.<\/p>\n
In addition, Prabowo also expressed appreciation to the Russian\nGovernment for the support provided to Indonesia, including in the\nprocess of Indonesia\u2019s acceptance as a BRICS member, which is deemed to\nhave proceeded quickly.<\/p>\n
According to him, Russia has also provided support for various\nimportant needs of Indonesia in several strategic fields.<\/p>\n
