Jakarta - Chief of Presidential Staff General (Retd) Dudung Abdurachman has stated that he has checked public criticisms regarding a kitchen in the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme, also known as SPPG, which is suspended yet still receives a daily incentive of Rp 6 million. In particular, Dudung was instructed by President Prabowo Subianto to examine every issue related to national priority programmes. “Yes, I informed him earlier. The President directed me, ‘Mr Dudung, please check it’,” Dudung said at the Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday (5/5/2026). Dudung explained that MBG is a national priority programme. “Therefore, I will reactivate collaboration with relevant stakeholders,” he stated. Meanwhile, if the Chief of Presidential Staff uncovers any irregularities in Prabowo’s priority programmes, Dudung promised to immediately expose the perpetrators to the public. “Please pray for me. If I find any, I will directly reveal it to the journalists. Just state who the perpetrators are, who is not acting correctly. Because this is public money, the people must know,” Dudung added. Dadan stated that the status of incentive provision to SPPG is determined based on the cause and level of violation that occurred. “If the suspension occurs due to a technical error at the kitchen implementation level, for example, not following standard operating procedures (SOP) such as cooking processes that are too hasty, then the SPPG may still receive incentives despite being suspended,” said Dadan in a press statement on Wednesday (29/4/2026). It is different if the suspension case occurs due to negligence by partners or foundations, such as inadequate kitchen facilities or failure to meet standards. “In that case, the SPPG is not entitled to receive incentives,” Dadan emphasised.
