Prabowo Approves 13 New Priority Locations to Accelerate National Downstreaming Centres
The Government of the Republic of Indonesia is intensifying efforts to accelerate the realisation of the national downstreaming programme as the primary strategy to increase the added value of the nation’s natural resources. This strategic step aims to ensure that natural wealth is processed maximally within the country before being exported.
A key decision regarding the expansion of this programme has received full support from President Prabowo Subianto following a coordination meeting with relevant ministers. The president’s support marks the acceleration of the government’s priority agenda in the industrial sector.
One of the parties reporting this significant development is the Minister of Investment and Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Rosan Roeslani. He directly conveyed the progress and development plans for downstreaming to the head of state.
The meeting between the Investment Minister and the President specifically focused on evaluating current achievements and planning the expansion of downstreaming development areas across various regions of the archipelago. This indicates a comprehensive review of the roadmap that has been prepared.
Rosan Roeslani confirmed that the roadmap for the next phase of the downstreaming programme has been definitively established. This plan includes the designation of 13 new strategic locations spread throughout Indonesia.
“The roadmap for the next downstreaming programme has been established and will target 13 strategic locations across the archipelago,” stated Rosan Roeslani regarding the expansion plan for those areas.
The designation of these new locations is expected to create equitable economic impacts from downstreaming activities in various regions. This aligns with the government’s vision for more inclusive development.
It is hoped that this expansion will not only increase national production capacity but also open up new job opportunities and encourage regional economic growth in the 13 priority points.
