Prabowo Appoints Two Deputy Defence Ministers

President Prabowo Subianto has appointed two new deputy defence ministers: Air Marshal Yusuf Jauhari and General Richard Taruli Horja Tampubolon.

The inauguration was held at the Presidential Palace in Central Jakarta on Thursday, 15 October 2026. It began with the singing of “Indonesia Raya”.

The ceremony continued with the reading of the presidential decree concerning the appointments. Prabowo then led the officials in taking their oaths and pledges.

“I will remain loyal to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and faithfully implement all laws and regulations in devotion to the nation and state. In carrying out my duties, I will uphold the ethics of office and perform to the best of my ability with a full sense of responsibility,” Prabowo said, followed by the newly appointed officials.

According to the decree, Yusuf will serve as deputy minister for logistics, the defence industry and technology. Richard will oversee strategy, doctrine and force development.
