PPP urged to clarify on QSAR
SURABAYA, East Java: Executives of the East Java provincial
chapter of the United Development Party (PPP) urged the party's
central board on Monday to clarify the Rp 5 billion investment in
troubled agribusiness company PT Qurnia Subur Alam Raya (QSAR).
Chairman of PPP's East Java chapter Hafidz Ma'shoem said the
central board had to summon the party's deputy chairman, Tosari
Wijaya, who admitted to having personally borrowed the money from
the party and investing it in QSAR.
"If they do not call for the meeting, we demand the central
board to hold a national meeting with all provincial chapters
where we can grill Tosari about the money," he said.
The provincial chapter also demanded the central board to
impose a tight mechanism for members who wish to borrow party
money.-- Antara
