PPIH: Water supply issues for pilgrims at Misfallah hotel resolved
Saudi Arabian Hajj Organising Officers (PPIH) have assured that the water supply at the Al Asalah Al Bakkiya Hotel in the Misfallah area of Makkah has returned to normal after experiencing technical disruptions.
Secretary of Sector 7 of the Makkah Working Area (Daker) for Saudi PPIH, Salamun Ali Mafaz, in Makkah on Tuesday, stated that his team acted swiftly to coordinate with the hotel management immediately after receiving reports of the water issue from Indonesian prospective pilgrims.
“I received information from the flight group (kloter) around 2:00 AM local time. We moved immediately because water is a basic need,” Salamun said.
Salamun explained that before the prospective pilgrims arrived and occupied the accommodation, the sector team had conducted a thorough inspection and examination of the suitability of all hotel facilities. The checks covered electrical installations, water, sanitation, worship facilities, and room amenities.
“There is a checklist for everything, and we ensure everything is ready before the prospective pilgrims arrive. If anything is unsuitable, we do not provide it to the pilgrims,” he said.
To address such matters, he noted, the sector team remains on standby and takes anticipatory steps by routinely checking water storage availability and the readiness of backup generators.
To date, the Al Asalah Al Bakkiya Hotel, with a total capacity of 1,744 people, is occupied by three kloters from Yogyakarta Embarkation (YIA), comprising around 900 Indonesian prospective pilgrims.
