PPIH Medan: Nusuk Card is the "life" of Hajj pilgrims in the Holy Land
Medan (ANTARA) - The Chairman of the Hajj Organising Committee (PPIH) for Medan Embarkation, Zulkifli Sitorus, stated that the Nusuk Card is the “life” of prospective Hajj pilgrims while in the Holy Land.
“The Nusuk Card that you have just received in this room is our ‘life’,” Zulkifli said in front of 359 prospective Hajj pilgrims from Cluster 10 of Medan Embarkation at the Medan Hajj Hostel on Saturday.
He explained that this card is a mandatory requirement for every Indonesian prospective Hajj pilgrim to enter holy sites for worship, whether in Medina and Mecca, or other places in Saudi Arabia.
The card contains the profile and medical data of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims, distributed directly at the embarkation or before departing for the Holy Land.
He said that prospective Hajj pilgrims from North Sumatra have been taught by officers about the uses of the Nusuk Card during manasik training.
The 359 prospective Hajj pilgrims from Cluster 10 of Medan Embarkation are from North Sumatra, consisting of 207 people from Deli Serdang Regency, 147 from South Labuhanbatu Regency, and five Hajj officers.
One prospective Hajj pilgrim named Azwar Husni Lubis from Deli Serdang Regency failed to depart due to illness before entering the Hajj hostel.
Zulkifli, who is also the Head of the North Sumatra Hajj and Umrah Regional Office, reminded that the Nusuk Card must be kept safe and not shared on social media.
Data from the PPIH Medan Embarkation states that 5,990 prospective Hajj pilgrims, including 68 Hajj officers from North Sumatra, will be sent to the Holy Land from 22 April to 11 May 2026.
Up to the departure of Cluster 9 of Medan Embarkation on Friday (1/5), a total of 3,589 prospective Hajj pilgrims and 40 Hajj officers have arrived in the Holy Land.
