Postal services

Postal services

From Pikiran Rakyat

On behalf of the organizing committee of the All-Indonesia
PMKN University Students Communications Forum (Forkoma), I wish
to express our dissatisfaction with the services rendered by
state-owned postal service company PT Pos (particularly with its
Bandung municipality branch office). Our disappointment regards
invitation letters for a seminar slated for Oct. 9, 1997 that we
sent on a free-stamp facility basis.

We took the invitation letters to the post office at IKIP
Bandung on Sept. 2, 1997 to be sent to about 500 principals of
junior and senior general and vocational schools from all over
West Java. However, when we later checked with the addressees, we
found that none of them had received the letters. We presumed
that something must have gone wrong.

I then tried to check on the whereabouts of the invitation
letters at the post offices at Cipedes and Jl. Soekarno-Hatta
respectively. They could not be found. We therefore think that it
is only proper for PT Pos to account for this matter.

Since it is the dedication month for the Ministry of Tourism,
Post and Telecommunications, we hope it is not too much to expect
all of the ministry's institutions, particularly PT Pos, to
strive to enhance the quality of their services. Improved
services are the key to success, aren't they?
