Post-Long Holiday, 348,000 Vehicles Return to Jabotabek
JAKARTA – PT Jasa Marga recorded 348,881 vehicles returning to the Jabotabek region during the peak return flow of the long Labour Day International holiday 2026, which took place on Saturday to Sunday (2-3 May 2026). Jasa Marga President Director, Rivan A Purwantono, stated that this figure represents an increase of 8.91 per cent compared to normal traffic of 320,340 vehicles. The volume is an accumulation from four main Toll Gates (GT), namely GT Cikampek Utama (towards Trans Java), GT Kalihurip Utama (towards Bandung), GT Cikupa (towards Merak), and GT Ciawi (towards Puncak). For the eastern direction, traffic from Trans Java through GT Cikampek Utama was recorded at 73,671 vehicles, up 15.56 per cent from normal conditions. Meanwhile, from the Bandung direction through GT Kalihurip Utama, it reached 91,935 vehicles, an increase of 18.67 per cent. In total, vehicles from both directions amounted to 165,606 units, up 17.27 per cent from normal traffic. Meanwhile, from the west (Merak), vehicles returning to Jabotabek through GT Cikupa were recorded at 88,866 vehicles, down 5.02 per cent compared to normal conditions. From the south (Puncak), the number of vehicles passing through GT Ciawi reached 94,409 vehicles, up 10.35 per cent from normal traffic. Rivan explained that during the long Labour Day 2026 holiday period, the total traffic volume entering and exiting Jabotabek on Jasa Marga Group toll roads reached around 1.2 million vehicles, up 3.27 per cent from normal conditions. He added that overall traffic management during this long holiday period ran optimally. “We ensure that traffic flow entering and exiting the Jabotabek region runs safely, smoothly, and comfortably for road users. This success is the result of collaboration with stakeholders, supported by the readiness of operational services across all Jasa Marga Group toll roads,” said Rivan.
