Post-Disaster Recovery Accelerated, Additional Regional Transfer of Rp10.6 Trillion Fully Disbursed
The government has completed the disbursement of additional Regional Transfers (TKD) to disaster-affected areas in the provinces of Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. As of 4 May 2026, a total additional TKD of Rp10.65 trillion has been fully disbursed, providing significant impetus for accelerating post-disaster recovery in the three affected provinces.
The TKD disbursement was carried out in stages to ensure accelerated liquidity at the local level. The first stage, amounting to 40 per cent or Rp4.38 trillion, was disbursed on 27 February 2026. The second stage, 30 per cent or Rp3.19 trillion, followed on 31 March 2026. Meanwhile, the third stage, 30 per cent or Rp3.06 trillion, was disbursed on 4 May 2026. All stages were implemented without disbursement conditions, allowing local governments to immediately accelerate recovery programmes on the ground.
This realisation also ensures that all local governments in the affected areas have adequate fiscal space to speed up rehabilitation and reconstruction post-disaster.
In aggregate, Aceh Province received an additional TKD of Rp1.65 trillion, North Sumatra Rp6.35 trillion, and West Sumatra Rp2.63 trillion. All of it has been fully channelled down to the district/city governments, covering additional Profit-Sharing Funds (DBH), General Allocation Funds (DAU), and Special Autonomy Funds (Otsus).
For Aceh, eight severely affected districts/cities also received an additional Rp287 billion through a grant mechanism channelled from a number of districts/cities in North Sumatra and West Sumatra.
Head of the Task Force for Accelerating Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (Satgas PRR) Post-Disaster Sumatra, Muhammad Tito Karnavian, stated that this additional TKD policy is a strategic step taken by President Prabowo Subianto to ensure rapid and equitable recovery across all affected areas.
“The President decided that all provinces and districts/cities be given additional TKD. The total is around Rp10.6 trillion. This is to ensure recovery proceeds quickly and evenly,” said Tito in Medan, North Sumatra, on Wednesday (22/4/2026).
He explained that the decision was taken after considering real needs on the ground. The government not only targeted directly affected areas but all areas within a province so that the recovery process can proceed more integrated.
“If only the directly affected areas, the amount would be around Rp8 trillion, but the President decided to give it to all. This is a form of support for accelerating recovery,” he added.
