Portrait of Schoolchildren Touring the Palace, Visiting Ministerial Inauguration Site to Cabinet Meeting
President Prabowo Subianto has opened the Presidential Palace across Indonesia for schoolchildren to visit starting Tuesday (7/4/2026) today. On Tuesday, students from SMKN 19 Jakarta had the opportunity to visit and tour the State Palace, accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Lieutenant Colonel TNI Teddy Indra Wijaya to the Head of the Presidential Secretariat Major General TNI Ariyo Windutomo. Based on photos released by the Presidential Secretariat, the pupils were taken into several rooms in the Palace, one of which is the room where President Prabowo Subianto inaugurates ministers and state officials. In addition, the schoolchildren were also taken to the place where Prabowo holds the Full Cabinet Meeting. This is because they have previously only been able to see the Palace from outside the fence and through the media. “I’m so happy, I can now know what the inside of the Palace is like, and the functions of each room are so different, and I can learn more deeply about the environment here,” said Kayla. Ine expressed a similar sentiment, stating that she was impressed by the atmosphere and the friendliness of the Palace staff. “For me, this first visit here was really fun, satisfying, and the staff here are all really cool and very kind. And there is so much history here from before Indonesia’s independence until now,” she said. “There are lots of documentaries too. It’s just really cool,” said Ine. Wahyu Khoirul Setiawan from Class XI Business Retail also felt similar happiness because this was the first time he set foot in the presidential palace. According to him, this visit broadened his horizons about various state activities that he had never known before, including meeting rooms and activities inside the Palace. The students hope that this programme can continue and reach more pupils at various education levels. “My hope, or ours, is that more opportunities for other high schools to enter here,” said Kayla and Ine.
