“Subsequently, after today, the Commission has finished its tasks and is now awaiting an event,” said the Chairman of the Commission for Accelerating Police Reform, Jimly Asshiddiqie, during a press conference following a meeting with Prabowo at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday (5/5/2026).

The Commission for Accelerating Police Reform was established on 7 November 2025 based on Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia Number 122P of 2025.
The commission met with Prabowo from 2:00 p.m. WIB to 5:30 p.m. WIB, or about 3.5 hours.
They submitted seven volumes of books and three smaller books to President Prabowo.
“Probably around 3,000 pages,” said the Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections, Yusril Ihza Mahendra, who is a member of the commission.
There are also recommendations regarding the strengthening of the National Police Commission or Kompolnas.
“The existence of Kompolnas, its authority will be expanded, and the decisions of Kompolnas will be binding so they must be implemented by the Police Chief,” said Yusril.
